Strik­er Kevon Carter scored two goals and cre­at­ed an­oth­er as an all lo­cal­ly-based So­ca War­riors out­fit whipped An­tigua & Bar­bu­da 4�1 in an in­ter­na­tion­al friend­ly at Mar­vin Lee Sta­di­um, Ma­coya last night. Carter, who has been in good form for his club team De­fence Force in the Dig­i­cel Pro League with five goals this sea­son, opened the scor­ing in the tenth minute and added his sec­ond in the 31st minute for a 3�1 cush­ion at the in­ter­val. The sec­ond strike by Carter came af­ter he had set up the sec­ond item from So­ca War­riors cap­tain Ker­ry Bap­tiste in the 18th minute, while in the sec­ond-half, De­von Jorsling, the lead­ing scor­er in the Pro League, made it 4�1 in the 67th minute. Sec­ond-half sub­sti­tute, Ja­son Mar­cano al­most made it 5�1 in the 78th minute, but his ef­fort came off the post to let the vis­i­tors off the hook.

The match-up was be­ing used by both teams as part of their prepa­ra­tions for the Dig­i­cel Caribbean Cham­pi­onship Qual­i­fiers, which be­gin next month. And it was very ev­i­dent that both coach­es were not about to let the chance go by, as T&T made six sub­sti­tu­tions in the con­test, one more than the vis­i­tors. It was al­so the first meet­ing be­tween both coun­tries since T&T scored a nar­row 3�2 win at the same venue in 2008. The win car­ried T&T's record against the An­tigua & Bar­bu­dans to nie from ten en­coun­ters, while outscor­ing its op­po­nents, 35�10. The 129th Fi­fa ranked An­tigua & Bar­bu­da's on­ly win against T&T came in 2005, 2�1 on the suc­cess­ful Road to Ger­many cam­paign.
